Thank you for drawing our attention to the debate about Peter Gade in China.

More officials of the Badminton Association of Denmark have reviewed the incident in the video. Among the officials is one person of Chinese origin. No one hear Peter Gade use the words you are suggesting. We hear “One time in a tournament”. We are also clear that there are no signs of Peter Gade addressing his opponent in any way (words or signs).

In addition I have discussed the matter with Peter Gade. He confirms he shows frustration following the outcome of a very good rally. He finds that the umpire shows very little understanding of players when handing him a yellow card for the incident. It is the only time in the tournament Peter Gade has expressed his frustration in such a way– therefore the outburst: “One time in a tournament”.

The BA of Denmark does not accept racial remarks from Danish players nor against Danish players. Peter Gade has never expressed or shown racial motives in his actions – on the court or off the court. Therefore it is disappointing to Peter Gade and the BA of Denmark that there are people in China putting forward such accusations.

在2010世锦赛半决赛中，陈金淘汰盖德并最终夺冠。赛前盖德夸下海口，并在和陶菲克的比赛中不同意换球，缺乏风度从而引发不满。而今年瑞士赛上的一段丑闻，也被揭发出来。

网友“guy_soochow”在中羽在线论坛发了一篇名为“盖德骂人图＋视频(真相)”。2010年的瑞士超级赛男单半决赛，盖德和谌龙打到第二局，谌龙13：8领先。谌龙一个后场球压线，盖德随即表示不满，先是扔拍，然后要求换球未果。随后盖德开始骂人，并从口中蹦出了“Chinaman”这样的侮辱性词汇。

guy_soochow写道：“Chinaman”这个词的用法要追溯到150多年前，当时第一批华人到美国的加利福尼亚淘金，希望能够一夜致富。但事与愿违，只能住在简陋的房屋内，他们被当地白人称作“Chinaman”，饱受歧视、排斥和压迫。在英文中“Chinaman”和“Negroes”(意：黑鬼)的用法是相同的，都表示蔑视，带有种族歧视。

网友们纷纷发表看法，有人对于Chinaman一词的用法表示不同看法，但绝大多数网友认同，在当时的情景之下，盖德带有明显的侮辱之意。

球迷纷纷发信要求他道歉

　　在过去，中国球迷经常对盖德冠以“儒雅”、“风度”等字眼，在大多数中国球迷眼里，盖德是完美的化身。不过在这件事情之后，盖德毫无疑问将会损失一大批拥趸。

在中羽论坛上，已经有球迷向盖德官网发去电子邮件，要求盖德公开道歉。不过到目前为止盖德还没有做出回应。还有网友建议，去盖德的facebook留言，以引起世界球迷的关注。

对于盖德爆粗口一事，论坛上球迷留言积极，相关的帖子也越来越多，不少球迷已经决定拿出行动来抵制。2010年羽毛球大师赛将于9月14日在江苏常州举行，球迷已经动手制作标语，准备在大师赛的时候打出标语抵制盖德，还有人表示，将会用“臭鸡蛋”迎接盖德。
